Nicole Godreau Soria is a multidisciplinary artist and poet living and working in Orlando, FL. Being raised between Ohio, Ecuador, and Florida, she aims to expand the collective narrative of women and queers relating, living, and loving in diaspora. Depicting ecological symbols, women’s bodies and their often-erased gendered labor, they use figurative portraiture to explore themes of memory, belonging, embodiment, and reclamation. Nicole works primarily with paper, water-based pigments, and relief printmaking. Their queer, neurodivergent Ecuadorian Puerto Rican American experiences, earth kinship, spirituality and the anticolonial resistance of the Caribbean shape her practice.
